Musical Longform

What is it?

This course introduces the basics of putting a longform music set together. That may be a full musical or more of a series of linked scenes and songs. It is a thrilling and immersive ride through genres, characters, games and musical theatre.

What can I expect?

  • Fully improvised musicals
  • A wide range of styles, genres and techniques
  • Supportive and inclusive safe environment to encourage your inner superstar

Creating a musical from nowhere. It looks like a miracle, feels like flying and is much easier to do than you expect. No specific knowledge of existing musical theatre is required. This course is designed for those with both musical and longform improvisation experience already, who want to expand their narrative and longform skills.

Who is this course suitable for?

  • Anyone who has had beginners musical improv and longform experience (with The Maydays or to an equivalent level).
  • Those looking to expand their improv and musical range
  • Anyone who loves musicals, or hates them and wants to do them better.
